A LITTLE ABOUT CORSHAM|
The Garden House is situated in the historic main street of Corsham. Many of the buildings in Corsham are of great architectural interest. Pesvener wrtes that Corsham has no match in Wiltshire for a wealth of good houses. Corsham has just won the South west in Bloom gold cup for 2011, awarded by the Royal Horticultural Society, (RHS).
Within 400 metres of The Garden House stands Corsham Court, built in 1528, the house has an extensive art collection, and is open to the public.
The grounds of the house were laid out by Capability Brown in 1761 and the parkland and lake are also open to the general public, giving access to some beautiful walks, which are right on the doorstep from The Garden House.
Corsham is perfectly placed for many tourist attractions. The World Heritage city of Bath beng only eight miles away, on a regular bus service, minutes from The Garden House.
There is also so much to see locally : Lacock, Castle Combe, Bradford-on-Avon and Bowood House, and just a drive away Stonehenge, Salisbury, Wells, to name just a few of the endless attractions Wiltshire and the West have to offer.
Corsham is also well place for the M.O.D. and Bath Univeristy Art College is based at Corsham Court. There are efficient Rail and Bus links to Bath, Bristol and the M4 to London (close to Junction 16-17) making Corsham a perfect place to stay if you are working in the area.
